Practice #4 – Wednesday, Bloody Wednesday

The day started with Mr. Martin talking to all athletes about their responsibilities and confirming their passport number and full name. After that was my time to distribute uniform and warmup jackets, which by the way is pretty cool. We will have our names embroidered on it in a near future. The cool new element of the uniform were the new socks, red with SCIS logo. It looks really cool. It seems also that everybody were happy with their numbers (see the list below).

The practice today is a bit iffy. The vibe was not one of the best today. Maybe because of the weather, maybe because it’s close to our first match. What I know is that some players seemed frustrated and the worst of all, Esmee was hit hard by a ball straight on her face and her nose started bleeding. Luckily it was not super serious so after applying ice and her resting a bit, she was back on the game.

Highlights of the practice: Suh-Young was really fast and passing well. She needs now to improve trapping (or how I normally shout, “stopping”) the ball. Elisa is turning out a good defender and Hailey was amazing as striker. I think we are ready for tomorrow’s match against Suzhou. I just hope they did not have more practices than us, after all, we had only 4 practices.
